School-Based Early Support Program
What We’re About
School-Based Early Support Program (SBES) provides home and school-based services to families in Community School district 32 in Brooklyn and district 30 in Queens. The program offers concrete services and supportive counseling as well as case management, parent support groups and coordination of services to families in the targeted communities. Our team of dedicated bilingual-bicultural caseworkers deliver these services. Our mission is to support and empower families in ways that enhance child safety and well-being, strengthen family bonds, and foster self-reliance.

What We Do
CHFS recognizes that schools are a safe haven and natural setting for families to seek help and receive support when raising their children. The School-Based Early Support Program is designed to support families in need and offer resources before the family’s life-situation evolves into a crisis that affects the safety and well-being of children at home and at school. We do this by building upon families’ diverse and rich cultural heritage, strengths, family and community supports, as well as linkages with community resources.
Who We Help
SBES programs help families struggling to meet the basic needs of their children, are challenged by family stressors, or are simply seeing parent support. The program helps families thrive and succeed while keeping children safe in stable, nurturing homes.
Referral Process
Working collaboratively with schools and community, SBES accepts referrals for families who are struggling with meeting basic needs, are showing early signs of family stress, or are challenged by parenting responsibilities. Families can self-refer or may be referred to the SBES program by school officials or community providers for help.
